Project Server is a project management solution. It allows the centralization and standardization of information and projects, timesheet maintenance, reports, analysis, templates, resources and patterns at company levels; project state web reports, projects portfolio and performance web deployment.
Project Server is part of the Office Project  family, which also includes: Microsoft Office Project Standard, Project Professional, Project Web Access and Project Server .
Microsoft Project Access is the Project Server client, and it allows the members of a team, resource managers and team leaders from a company to visualize the reports and timesheets information.

Microsoft Project Professional is the desktop client for Project Server and it allows projects managers to manage project plans and enterprise resources which are saved in Project Server database.
